In exercise of the powers conferred on the Secretary of State by sections 537(1) and (4) and 569(4) and (5) of the Education Act 1996[1] and now vested in the National Assembly for Wales[2], the National Assembly for Wales, after consulting those persons with whom consultation appeared to it to be desirable, hereby makes the following Regulations: Citation, commencement and application 1. - (1) These Regulations may be cited as the Education (School Information) (Wales) (Amendment) Regulations 2001 and shall come into force on 1st September 2001. (2) These Regulations apply only in Wales. Amendment of Regulations 2. - (1) The Education (School Information) (Wales) Regulations 1999[3] are amended as follows. (2) After paragraph 14 of Schedule 3 to those Regulations insert -
14B. Particulars of any policies adopted by the governing body of the school with respect to equal opportunities. 14C. A description in general terms of the arrangements made for the security of the pupils and staff at the school and the school premises. 14D. A summary of the provisions contained in the home-school agreement adopted by the governing body of the school under section 110(1) of the 1998 Act.".
(This note does not form part of the Regulations) These Regulations amend the Education (School Information) (Wales) Regulations 1999 which provide for (amongst other things) the information which must be included in the school prospectus. Four additional items relating to arrangements for disabled pupils, equal opportunities' policies, school security and the home-school agreement adopted by the school are now to be included in the school prospectus - see Regulation 2.
