The Scottish Ministers, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 23(2)(c) of the Education (Additional Support for Learning) (Scotland) Act 2004[1], and of all other powers enabling them in that behalf, hereby make the following Order: Citation and commencement 1. This Order may be cited as the Additional Support for Learning (Appropriate Agencies) (Scotland) Order 2005 and shall come into force on 14th November 2005. Appropriate agencies 2. For the purposes of section 23(2) of the Education (Additional Support for Learning) (Scotland) Act 2005 (appropriate agencies whose help an education authority may request) the persons specified are–
(b) The Scottish Agricultural College; and (c) Scottish Enterprise and Highlands and Islands Enterprise (in relation to functions under sections 8 to 10A of the Employment and Training Act 1973[3] (careers services of education authorities and provision of ancillary goods and services)).
(This note is not part of the Order) This Order specifies further appropriate agencies for the purposes of section 23(2) of the Education (Additional Support for Learning) (Scotland) Act 2005. An education authority may request the help of those agencies in the exercise of any of its functions, as with other local authorities and Health Boards. The agencies specified by this Order are–
(b) The Scottish Agricultural College (article 2(b)); and (c) Careers Scotland (article 2(c)).
