Public Sector Information
This section provides information about the Regulations on the re-use of public sector information that came into force on 1 July 2005. The Regulations implement a European Directive on the re-use of public sector information.
The aim of the Regulations is to encourage the re-use of public sector information by removing obstacles that stand in the way of re-use. The main themes are improving transparency, fairness and consistency. In doing so it will help stimulate the development of innovative new information products and services across Europe, so boosting the information industry.

What's New in PSI
Over 14,000 PSI Click-Use Licences issued
Since the launch of the Click-Use system in April 2001, over 14,000 licences have been issued. For further details on the number of licences issued in the last year and a breakdown of PSI licence holders by category type see the licensing statistics.
Over 1,000 Parliamentary Click-Use Licences issued
Since the launch of Parliamentary Click-Use Licences in August 2005, over 1,000 licences have been issued. Parliamemtary Copyright material can be reproduced under the terms of the Parliamentary Click-Use Licence.
OPSI report published
It’s is now two years since the UK implemented the European Directive on the re-use of public sector information. To mark the event, OPSI has published a report that sets out the progress that has been with details of the various UK initiatives.
