Viewing legislation
Legislation is generally available to view in four ways:
- Standard View - legislative text displayed within the OPSI website template in HTML (default)
- Plain View - legislation only view. Content is displayed without the website template – allowing more white space for easier reading, is 'chunked' into pages.
- Single Page View - Legislation item as one HTML page. Legislation only view. Content is displayed without the website template – allowing more white space for easier reading.
- Print View - legislation as a print quality PDF
The different viewing options are available from the right hand side menu when an item of legislation is being viewed. Please note that PDF is only available for original legislation (as enacted).
Explanatory Notes
Explanatory Note text is available to view as a separate HTML or PDF document from the menu pages. A link to the Explanatory Note for an Act is also linked to from the right hand menu when an Act is being viewed.
Alternatively, Explanatory Note text can be viewed inline with the Act text using the controls to expand or collapse the extra information boxes.
If you find the interweave view of Explanatory Notes with an Act the most favourable, you can set all Explanatory Notes to be expanded within the Act using the control below. Return to this page to disable the feature if necessary.
